Warranty The best warranty is one you never have to use - but should the need occur - we're proud to provide a superior level of support and service coverage to our customers. OWC is proud to offer an extended replacement window of 90 days on new internal hard disk drives. Once a return authorization number has been issued and we receive the problematic drive back, you will get a brand new replacement drive, rather than a factory refurbished drive. After 90 days, the drive is fully backed by the manufacturer to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the remainder of the two year warranty period. Verified Buyer Reviewer: Eskimorambo Location: Montreal Age: 45-54 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 4/5 Performed well, noisier than original December 7, 2017 I actually just took this drive out of my iMac and went back to the original 1tb drive.
It made a constant noise that I thought was the fan over-spinning because of the OWC sensor kit cable not working. But the sensor was probably fine, the fans were spinning at the right speed, and when I took the drive out and put it into an external case (where it now will live forever.) I distinctly heard its whisping sounds of the drive spinning. So, if you want a good drive for performance for a tower under your desk, this is the a good choice. But not for an iMac right next to your ears. Customer Videos.
Verified Buyer Top 100 Contributor Reviewer: MountainMan Location: Woodland Park, CO Age: 55-65 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 5/5 Fast and reliable December 11, 2016 I was being inundated with external drive enclosures, so I completely changed my backup/storage strategy. I now use OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual enclosures which let me remove drives when they are full, store them in 'naked' form, and replace them with new drives. I've purchased eight of these Toshiba drives, recommended by OWC as among the most reliable and very fast.
My experience to date has been exactly that. There are cheaper drives, but the cost of a failed drive is infinitely greater than the few extra bucks these require. I would recommend this item to a friend! Customer Videos. Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Los Angeles, CA Age: Over 65 Owned Product: 1-3 months Rating: 5/5 Fast, meets rated capacity, good value March 14, 2016 The idea of purchasing 5 TB of fast, reliable hard drive space for around $200 is mind boggling to me. My first hard drive held 18 megabytes, drew 250 watts from the w all socket (in its large enclosure) and cost $3,000!
I guess that lets you know it was round 1981 when I bought it. Still, the amount of storage available in a small, low-power package is truly amazing, and this drive is a great buy. I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from.
Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: NoVa Age: 45-54 Experience Level: IT Professional Owned Product: over 6 months Rating: 4/5 Nice drive, but not the most silent one March 5, 2016 I use this drive for my Time Machine backups since last July. No complaints when it comes to its performance. The amount of space is fantastic. It is however not a silent drive by any means. The fact that It sits in a Mercury Elite Pro enclosure may not help to reduce the noise level. I would have given 5 stars if it wouldn't be so loud.

The product crashed and unmounted in mac os x.
Then I reformat drive again in mac os 9.2.2 and found out only reads 2TB in mac os 9.2.2. The drive works in directly in mac os 9.2.2 and mac os x 10.5.8 but not in mac os x 10.4.11 because it unmounted the drive in this system. You need to change the product description only reads 2TB in mac os 9.2.2. This review is from. October 20, 2015 This product has brought new life to my iMac! Before installation of this new hard drive, I had to shut off all incoming e-mail, I couldn't do any updates, nor, could I do anything that required any memory whatsoever! The instructions were dead on with the exception of the following: Before you decide to upgrade your Mac, be sure to have your copy of the OS disc or else you will be screwed. Lucky for me, I had mine, and with a little more research I was able to do the upgrade without a hitch.

If you are looking for enterprise level SATA drives, please check out the new 8TB & 10TB Hitachi Ultrastar 7200RPM SAS drives on our page. These are very similar to enterprise grade SATA drives. We carry a wide range of the best SATA drives from Hitachi, Toshiba, Seagate and Western Digital. All listed drives are brand new and carry a full manufacturer warranty.
These drives will work in all of our SATA and SAS enclosures. One choice you'll need to make is between enterprise and desktop drives. While costing more per GB, enterprise drives will give you somewhat better reliability and a longer warranty period. However a RAID system will mostly mitigate any reliability concerns with desktop drives and you shouldn't see any performance difference. We've been selling computer storage online since 1999 and have built a loyal following of Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, government agencies, multimedia studios, consultants, you name it. Our mission is to be competitive on selection and prices, while providing truly unmatched personal service.
Everyone you reach here has in-depth experience with RAID storage. This means we can provide real-world insight into topics like performance, compatibility, bang for the buck, and the best solution for your needs. Call 1-800-298-4173, email, or click the button for help.
Maybe if you would give us the exact message, we might understand what the system wants. Is this related to the sticky regarding Toshiba SSD drives? If the drive was being run in RAID mode, which some systems do, it might mean thatthe configuration is problematic but the RAID driver should be Intel or Windows or possibly another brand. If you check the device manager and look down in Storage controllers or the drive itself what configuration does it show? If that doesn't show you anything, select the drive then set Device Manager to view devices by connection and let us know what controller the drive shows under.
Laptop came with two 60GB drives, set up as independent drives (C: & ), My master drive C: has about 17 GB of free space left. I purchased two 320 GB to replace the orginal drives. The second drive works ok, but after cloneing the master drive C: the new master drive will not boot to windows. Error code for fault in the drive creates a boot loop and nevers starts windows. Not cloned both drives work and can be swap as the second drive in the system. No one at Toshiba seems to know anything about Raid, even with it in their computers. Microsoft is unable to help at the normal tech support ($59),but possible at expert support at $250-$500 level.
I have writen to other forms with the same anwser, no one knows. Can anyone in this form help? I'm not surprised that they can not help you.
What type of RAID Array is this? What even makes you think you have a RAID Array here as well? What are you using as an OS? How did you configure the RAID Array?
Oh and a Full Model Name & Number for the Toshiba would also help as I do not work for or with Toshiba and a quick search on Toshiba's Web Site failed to revel any product with the Q25-AV513 Designation. If you cloned the Primary Drive to the System with 1 Drive in it this would produce a system with 2 Separate Drives not any form of RAID Array. So if you have setup a Hardware RAID in BIOS it's not going to work.
I'm not at all sure of what has been done here so if you care to post back with more details we'll try to help you. Array Information from Toshiba Raid Console array no. Each drive is independent (C: & ) The drive that is the target of the clone is attach through a USB using a cloning software by Acronis. I cannot access the drive portion in the BIOs for some reason. This is what Toshiba has about setting up a RAID Array on this NB You need to read the Directions here as they can not be Cut & Pasted from the Toshiba Web Site. Now as for cloning a 60 Gig Drive to the 320 GIG Drive that you bought I don't think that this will work as you need to install the RAID Drivers to have it working correctly. But give this a try.
Clone the Remaining 60 GIG Drive to 1 320 GIG Drive and use a Cloning utility that uses the entire HDD size of the Target Drive or you will be stuck with a active 60 GIG Partition. As this is a Stripped Array it should retain the RAID settings but it needs to use the entire HDD's Space. You can try using Acrois True Image Home Edition it's free here to do this. This is free for Home Use and it will use all of the new Drive if you tell it to when you start the Clone Procedure. After you have the Drive Cloned to the 320 GIG Drive stop the computer and remove the 60 GIG HDD and fit the other 320 GIG HDD preferably Blank or at the very least a Blank Full Partition of the same type. Boot the system and enter the Toshiba RAID Configuration Utility and tell it to Rebuild the RAID Array.
This may work but it will leave you with a RAID 0 Array it may be possible to change the Array Type in the RAID Utility but you generally need to reinstall the OS however after you have Rebuild the Array you can try to alter the Type of RAID in the RAID Utility supplied by Toshiba. It shouldn't really matter here as you had Redundancy with a Stripped Drive setup ad faster performance as the Read Writes to the HDD is spread over 2 Drives nd wit the larger Cache on the 320 GIG Drives it should be very fast. But my machine spec. 120GB using two Serial ATA (SATA) Hard Disk Drives5 o Primary+Secondary - 60GB HDD (5400RPM) + 60GB HDD (5400RPM)6 RAID 0 (Striping) and RAID 1 (Mirroring) supported by TOSHIBA RAID Software.? HDD Interface? Serial ATA was setup for mirroring, second drive failed, trying to clone 320GB drive, can not get windows to boot (goes into safe mode loop).
I guess after talking to Toshiba, no one there has any knowledge on raid, also tried Microsoft support, and no help there. All say I need someone on a professonal level.??
